So I thought we could need a thread for music, where people can talk about their favourite music and show us some good or interesting stuff :)




I personally listen at least 2 hours to music every day, I have my ipod always with me. 8)
I like many different genres, but Metal is probably the one I listen to the most.
Although I dont have any particular favourite bands, I listen a lot to Eisregen, Slayer, Rob Zombie, Rammstein, Cannibal Corpse, Napalm Death, Slipknot, Manowar and many others.

I'm trying hard to get the new Eisregen album "Knochenkult" at the moment, but it's a bit difficult because a lot of the bands former albums were either forbidden or restricted :S

So, any other metalheads here?  >:D

I see there are a lot of different genres here^^

I like something like Pop, Dance, R&B, 70s Disco^^, Acid Jazz and other.
Rock, Metal and so on aren't my music.
Sure there are some exceptions but most of the music I don't like.
Some artist that I like:
Jamiroquai, Justin Timberlake, Chromeo, Bob Sinclar, Cosmo Vitelli, Robbie Williams and many many more.
And I have many Game OSTs (Final Fantasy, Tekken, UT3 etc).

The title of this song should be translated as "Fucking luck". It is about the guy who witnesses the mafia member execution and is forced to run for his life. I listen to a lot of music mostly rock hardrock metal kinda stuff.
I like these bands for instance:
Metallica, Kiss, Scoprions, Nirvana, Slipknot, Stone Sour, Foo Fighters, Disturbed, Seether, Offspring,
Him, Hanoi Rocks, Nightwish, Children of Bodom, In Flames, Hellacopters, Hardcore SuperStar, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Dire Straits, And many more.

My fiancé is more into pop, poprock and Christian music. Her favourite singer is Celine Dion and i dont mind listening to her music sometime either as long as it doesnt happen too often :P
She also makes some music of her own.

Some rap and hiphop might be okay too sometime.

The only thing that i dont like to listen to at all is RnB and Techno. And even though me and my fiancé often dont like the same kind of music we still both hate RnB and Techno :P

Thats error message is a "feature" of the script that embeds videos automatically if you put just the url of popular video sites...youtube seems tho have changed something, so the videos appear not to be embedable even if they aren't set to watch only on youtube.com.

Mike monroe and his band Hanoi Rocks. A finnish not so well known band that started out in the late 70s and stopped playing in the middle of 1980s because their drummer died in a car accident, he was in the car where some mötley crüe member drove drunk and the wrong guy died. Well Hanoi Rocks came back in the early 2000 with 2 original members and i've seen 2 shows with them the last 2 years but i think they stop playing for good this time.
Here are some of my favourite songs of theirs (Mike) the singer did some songs on his own too that are good.
Hanoi Rocks hung out with guns n roses a lot and i bet guns got a lot of inspiration from them.

This map isn't addressed to anyone special, it should deliver a cool new gameplay to vCTF fans and a map which separates from others and which is made with a lot of love and on the second hand represent a bit my country, it's own culture and beautiful looks of the alps. It won't be finished anyway so fast cause it takes a lot of editor skill to get all that stuff sorted out so it's becoming beautiful on one hand but fun to play and everything working like I want it on the other hand. So I just want some feedback on the whole map idea and what you think if this sound would go along or definitely would be too local focused.

No no no I think that a vCTF snow themed map can be very cool and it's even better when you have some ideas how to connect UT with Swiss Apls ;)

BUT I don't think rap (or any music with vocals) is suitable. It would be very distracting to hear someone ranting over and over while you play. If you have some dub versions of the songs you wanna use I'd recommend those first. I have music turned off so I'll not hear it anyway. Focus more on the gameflow and balancing the pickups/ammo first, music is really the last hing that's important to me in a map.

edit: I have one wish though :P put in the stinger behind glass again - that thing was hilarious XD

Definitely an attempt to reshoot the Matrix concept.
The dreams, or dreams within dreams could be a good approach, but most of the dream episodes have nothing in common to what I personally would associate to dreams. It is mostly about perfect architecture and landscape, not about dejavus of places you know etc, mortality as in real life, no supra natural abilities like the power to fly (lol) or be fast. Ok, my mind is weird, and the movie is doing great about dreams. ;D

The concept of entering fictive versions of our world reminded me instantaneously of the matrix. The main part of the Inception acts in Fishers mind... well, full of combat scenes - military drill affecting his subconscious or not, seems pretty renowned to me. Also the projections trying to attack the intruders seems imitated from the transformation to agents in the Matrix.
IMO the movie is not a full copy of the matrix, since it goes beyond those similarities and eg the other dreams are better (esp. Di Caprio's dream with the elevator-world memories are impressive).

Hell I like music, provided it is metal. Slayer, Morbid Angel, Death, Vader, Behemoth, Mayhem are my favourite. It can be also any other kind of metal, it just need to have 2 guitars and drums :) I often go to concerts and festivals, sadly there are so few in Poland, but Brutal Assault in Chech Republic this year was cool.

Sometimes I am forced to listen techno music on parties in clubs, what to do if all your friends are going :) I find d'n'b quite nice after several drinks though :)

There only are cheesy radio stations in SüdTirol, all the songs in the playists - mostly pop and oldies - seem to repeat after 3 days at latest.
As a kid I really hated oldies, but in the meantime they are a welcome alternative to the current crappy pop titles of katie perry, Lady Gaga, Rhianna, Nickelback, Train etc. and black music, hip-hop/ rappers. ...at least they don't play dubstep on the radio.

Don't get this wrong, there are many pop bands I like and many oldies I dislike. But the kind of songs that plays on the radio is purely 'casual music' for me.
